The
Glenisla Hotel and Restaurant lies directly on the Cateran Trail.
Named after a marauding gang of cattle thieves (The Caterans) who
roamed in the area from the middle of the 15th century until the
17th century, using ancient trails.

We are the ideal start and end
point on the Cateran Trail. We can arrange for the transport of
luggage during your stay along the Cateran trail, from your previous
overnights accommodation to your next days Cateran Trail accommodation, using a
local taxi company (The same company used by other booking agents
selling the Cateran Trail). Our parking on the Cateran Trail is safe
and private, since we are in a small village away from the maddening
crowds. Use of our car park is free during your stay on the Cateran
Trail.
When you stay with us for the
duration of the trail, you will not have to unpack and pack every
day. Arrive back in the hotel every evening to a hot shower or bath
and a raging fire in the pub. Simply relax and enjoy a good meal,
fine wines and atmospheric surroundings.
We are situated 14 miles from
Glenshee and 12 miles from Alyth. Staying at our hotel when walking
the Cateran Trail offers many advantages.

and breakfast to eat in our restaurant.
- - Warm, comfortable pub and
restaurant.

day during winter.

Each day the taxi

you off at the start of the next leg. He will collect you at the end
of the leg and return you to the hotel. Included in the price is a
filling packed lunch to give you the energy boost that you need to
tackle all of those miles. Our local taxi company can also arrange
for transfers to and from local airports and train stations.
